Normally I’m not a fan of books created by someone other than the original author, but this one is beautiful. My Three loved the story of a boy who finds a photograph from the original Snowman book.

The boy creates his own snowman and snowdog – and after many adventures with the snowman, the dog comes to life and becomes his own.

Illustrated in full color, this is a wordless story. The pictures have "the hazy softness of air in snow." A little boy rushes out into the wintry day to build a snowman, which comes alive in his drea. The Snowman Killer is a quick read, but an enjoyable one. It was a compelling cozy mystery which built suspense earlier than most books in this genre.

I particularly liked the descriptions of the settings throughout the book, which really helped to set the mood. I believe this is where the author really shines.4/5.
